2. Collection and Processing of Personal Data

2.1 Server logs (website access)

When you visit our website, the server automatically records information that your browser sends (server logs). This may include: IP address, date and time of access, requested URL, referrer URL, browser type and version, and operating system.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in ensuring security and operation of the website).

Retention: Server logs are retained for 14 days and then deleted, unless a longer retention is required for legal or security reasons.

2.2 Contact form

When you submit the contact form, we process the following data: name, email address, company (optional), subject/industry, country (optional), message content. In addition, we store your IP address and the date and time of submission for security and documentation purposes.

Data is stored on our server (as JSON files) and a copy is sent by email via our email service provider so that we can respond to your inquiry.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of pre-contractual measures at your request).

Retention: Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months and then deleted. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Your rights).

Processor: Emails are sent via IONOS SE (Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany). We have concluded a data processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag) with IONOS in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

Providing your data via the contact form is voluntary. However, we need your name, email address, and message content to respond to your inquiry. Without this information we cannot process your request.

2.3 Language detection

On your first visit to our website (when viewing the default language version), we read your browser’s language preference (e.g. via navigator.language) to offer you the matching language version. We store your chosen or detected language in a first-party cookie (i18n_lang) so that we can show you the same language on your next visit. This cookie is strictly necessary for this functionality and does not require your consent.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a language-appropriate website experience).

3. Cookies

This website uses one strictly necessary cookie: i18n_lang. It stores your language preference (e.g. "de" or "en") so that we can display the site in your chosen language on subsequent visits. The cookie is first-party, has a duration of 365 days, and is set only when you visit the site or change the language. No consent is required for this cookie under the ePrivacy rules, as it is strictly necessary for the functionality you request. We do not use cookies for analytics, marketing, or session management.

4. Hosting

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH (Gunzenhausen, Germany). Server logs and any data you submit (e.g. via the contact form) are processed on servers within the European Union. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Hetzner in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

5. Data transfers

All processing of your personal data takes place within the European Union or the European Economic Area. We do not transfer your data to countries outside the EU/EEA. Our hosting provider (Hetzner) and our email provider (IONOS) process data in Germany.

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access (Art. 15) – obtain confirmation as to whether we process your data and a copy of that data
  • Rectification (Art. 16) – have inaccurate data corrected
  • Erasure (Art. 17) – request deletion of your data where applicable
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18) – limit how we use your data in certain cases
  • Data portability (Art. 20) – receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Object (Art. 21) – object to processing based on legitimate interests

Where processing is based on consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.

7. Automated decision-making and profiling

We use TLS (HTTPS) for all connections to this website. Data you submit (including via the contact form) is transmitted in encrypted form. Access to stored contact form data is restricted and the server is maintained in accordance with current security practice.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The current version is always available on this page with the date of last update.
